– Open to Hybrid and Remote (MUST LIVE IN OR AROUND LOS ANGELES AREA)
Mechanical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection Designer position that can demonstrate the successful delivery of detailed mechanical design packages on medium to large scale capital projects under the supervision of a Professional Engineer. Project types will be educational, commercial, multi-residential and hospitality, including both existing building renovations/retrofits and new construction. In addition, the qualified candidate should have proven ability to handle multiple complex tasks and manage priorities effectively.
Job Responsibilities:
- Developing HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection system drawings under direction of the Senior Mechanical Engineer (P.E.)
- Assist in developing specifications as directed
- Assist in developing feasibility and site analyses study as directed
- Performing Gas Utility Load Calculations as directed
- Develop Building Pressurization Plans for High Rise Buildings as directed
- Participate in development of Building Management System (BMS), details, and Sequence of Operations coordinating with other Design Team Professionals as directed
- Develop HVAC Control systems, details, and Sequence of Operations as directed
- Assist in task of construction phase as directed, in the form of Contractors Submittal Reviews, RFI / RFC responses, and Site Meetings to verify construction of Mechanical / Plumbing / Fire Protection scope is executed per the intent of the design
- Assistance for the development of Energy Modeling in coordination with other members of Design Team as directed
- Traveling as required for client development and project execution
Qualifications
- Proficiency required with the following software: BIM 360, AutoCAD, and Revit, Bluebeam, EnergyPro, MS Office (Excel, word, etc.)
- Proficiency for Hydratec for Fire Protection software is preferred
- Excellent verbal and written Communication skills
- In addition to the basic qualifications listed, the successful candidate shall possess the skills required to successfully develop and execute project tasks and deliverables, be a collaborative team player, and have a strong drive to deliver a quality project to customers
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred
- Plumbing design experience
- Fire protection design experience
- HVAC Design Experience
- Work experience with California Building Codes (CBC, CMC, and CPC)
- Heat load calculation experience
Additional Skills/Software Requirements
- Work experience with CA Title 24 codes
- HAP Carrier software proficiency preferred
- Trane Trace 700 software proficiency preferred
- MS-office (Excel + Word) proficiency
