Senior Traffic Engineer – Sacramento, CA Relocation Assistance provided Pay Range
$150,000.00 Annually to $190,000.00 Annually
Seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer to join and help lead our expanding team in Sacramento. This position offers the opportunity to work on various public infrastructure and private development projects, including Signal Designs, Pedestrian/Roadway Safety, Multi-modal Operations, Work Zone Traffic Control, and Roadway Lighting Design.
Position Summary: As a Senior Traffic Engineer, you will take on the responsibility of preparing traffic studies and designs with minimal supervision. You will work collaboratively with team members to produce high-quality deliverables and contribute to the growth and success of our team. Additionally, you will supervise traffic engineers in their preparation of traffic studies and designs and manage traffic-related projects to ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and meet client expectations. You will also prepare traffic engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates (PS&E) for various infrastructure projects, as well as draft proposals for traffic engineering projects. This role involves a key focus on strategic planning, budgeting, and client communication. It is an excellent opportunity for a motivated leader.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Manage work scope, schedule, and budget of traffic engineering design projects
Prepare plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates for traffic signals, lighting, ramp metering, transportation electrical systems, signing, pavement delineation, and construction stage traffic handling
Prepare traffic operations analysis to support traffic design projects
Prepare proposals for traffic engineering design projects
Requirements
BS in Civil or Electrical Engineering
Registered as a Professional Engineer in Civil, Electrical, or Traffic Engineering. preferably in California. If registered outside California, it is expected to be registered in California within 2 years
10+ years of experience in preparing plans, specifications, and cost estimates for traffic signals, lighting, ramp metering, transportation electrical systems, signing, pavement delineation, and construction stage traffic handling
Effective communication skills, written and verbal
Technical Skills
Proficiency in using MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
Knowledge of using AGI and/or VISUAL photometric analysis software
Knowledge of using Auto-Turn software
Knowledge of using Synchro and SimTraffic traffic analysis software
